WHAT SUBJECTS ARE COVERED DURING MY CHILD'S TUTORING SESSION?

One subject will be offered for students enrolled in tutoring twice weekly (unless time permits) Reading only or Math only. Sessions scheduled three times a week may cover both reading and math, if required.

HOW LONG ARE THE SERVICES AND WHAT DO THEY INCLUDE?

Each session is 90 minutes in length. Students are to arrive 15 minutes prior to their session, for sessions will end 15 minutes prior to the start of the next session. Sessions will include reading, math or both.

ARE YOU OPEN DURING THE HOLIDAYS?

No, we will be closed during the 4th of July. This state holiday is also observed by the B.J. Chain Library.

WHERE CAN I FIND MISSED ASSIGNMENTS WHEN I AM ABSENT DUE TO ILLNESS OR A FAMILY EMERGENCY?

A link will be emailed to the parent's email on file to access any missed work due to absence.

DOES EXCEL IN LEARNING PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE LIBRARY?

No, transportation is not provided.

WILL I BE ABLE TO RESCHEDULE IF I AM ABSENT DUE TO ILLNESS?

One make-up day will be allowed during the summer session due to illness or family emergency. No payment credits will be transferred, students are allotted a set paid time slot, due to a paid weekly schedule, meaning other dates and times are not available when their days are missed. An effort will always be made to connect the students with their assigned daily work/homework.

IS THIS ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES?

Yes

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I AM ABSENT MORE THAN TWO DAYS?

Assignments will be forwarded to the students for the days missed. If more than one day, a zoom tutorial session may be given upon request.

HOW CAN I END MY TUTORING CONTRACT?

Contract can be terminated by either party, by providing a minimum 48 hour notice

WHAT HAPPENS IF STUDENTS ARE NOT PICKED UP BY THE END OF THEIR ASSIGNED SESSION?

Students must be picked up by the end of their tutoring session. They are not allowed to be enrolled and unattended at anytime during their library visit. Students not picked up15 minutes after their session ends will be assessed a $15 Late Fee. Please adhere to Policy- this policy is strictly enforced for the safety of your child.

ARE YOUR FACILITIES ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES?

HOW WILL THE TUTOR PROVIDE COMMUNICATION CONCERNING MY CHILD'S PROGRESS?

Daily reports will accompany your child home.

HOW CAN I COMMUNICATE MY QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS?

Parents are encouraged to contact the Director at anytime. By Phone, email or text. All calls will be returned as soon as possible, outside of tutoring sessions, but by no later than the end of the work day.

WHO CAN PICK UP STUDENTS?

Only those listed on the pick-up list. Can sign for your child at pick-up time. Parents must communicate all changes to the Director in writing if this list changes. At the time of drop-off an adult is required to accompany the child and sign him/her in at all times.

WHAT ITEMS ARE STUDENT REQUIRED TO BRING TO TUTORING SESSIONS?

Only the items requested. No games or electronics are allowed. Please leave these items at home. Not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

WILL PHOTOGRAPHS INCLUDING MY CHILD BE TAKEN AT THE LIBRARY?

Yes. Parents are required to sign a photo release in order for students to be photographed. If you do  not wish to have your child photographed, please indicate this choice at the time of enrollment to have your child omitted.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE MEETING PLACE BECOMES UNAVAILABLE DURING MY SCHEDULED MEETING TIME?

A parent will be notified prior to the scheduled meeting time and a make-up time or Zoom meeting will be scheduled.

HOW ARE BEHAVIORAL ISSUES RESOLVED?

Parents are to be contacted immediately-request a parent conference for assistance. Second offense could result in the termination of contract, depending on the severity of the offense.

HOW LONG WILL THE SUMMER TUTORING PROGRAM LAST?

12 Weeks (May 2 - July 20, 2023)

IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY EVACUATION WHAT HAPPENS?

Parents will be notified immediately and the Libraries evacuation plan and location for pick up will be adhered to.

WHAT PAYMENTS ARE ACCEPTED AND WHEN ARE THEY DUE?

Payments are due at the time of booking, PRIOR to tutoring sessions.  No tutoring sessions will be scheduled online without payments. You must complete the following means of payment to reserve your space on the calendar.  Payments are to be made online at PayPal.me/excelinlearning, Cash App $excelinlearning, or Venmo or by Check prior to scheduled sessions: Payments by check must be received in advance of schedule. Please make checks Payable to: LEARNING TREE







WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHECK IS RETURNED?

No more checks will be accepted and a $36 returned check fee will be applied.
